 FAQs

  • I am trained in several evidence-based therapeutic modalities and specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is offered as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with traditional talk therapy. These approaches are designed to address a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and relationship difficulties.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that helps individuals process and integrate traumatic memories. By using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories, allowing for healing and resolution.

  • Before scheduling a therapy session, I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to all potential new clients. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, talk about my approach in therapy, ask questions, and talk about anything else that would help you make a decision about whether or not to move forward.

  • If you choose to schedule an appointment following your consultation call, we will find a time that works best for both of us and plan to meet either virtually or in person, depending on your preference. I will send you a few intake forms via HIPAA compliant software for you to access my full policies, provide background information about yourself, and ensure that you know exactly what to expect.

  • During your first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and any specific issues you want to address. This initial session helps us understand your needs and create a tailored treatment plan. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and ensure that you feel comfortable with the therapeutic process.

  • The length of therapy varies for each individual, depending on the nature and severity of the issues being addressed. Some people may find significant relief in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We will regularly review your progress to ensure your needs are being met.

  • Yes, therapy sessions are confidential. Your privacy is of utmost importance. Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed without your consent, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law.

  • Both! I offer online therapy sessions through secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms. This allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own home, ensuring accessibility and convenience. I offer in-person therapy sessions in Delray Beach, FL. If you prefer to meet in person, we can hold our sessions in the office at the frequency of your choosing.

  • In some cases, you may be eligible to use out-of-network benefits to offset the cost of therapy. When you use out-of-network benefits, you pay for the therapy sessions upfront and then submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. The insurance company will process your claim and reimburse you according to the terms of your plan, which may include a deductible, coinsurance, and allowable rates for out-of-network services. The amount you will be reimbursed depends on your specific insurance plan’s out-of-network benefits. Factors that influence reimbursement include:

    Your plan’s deductible

    The percentage of coinsurance

The allowable rate for the services provided Contact your insurance company for details on your out-of-network coverage and reimbursement rates.

If you are interested in exploring this option, I can assist you in submitting out-of-network claims to your insurance company.
